The problem

  • Your catalog has SKUs with missing, outdated, or guessed HS/HTS codes.
  • Section 301 and 232 stacks can erase margin on SKUs that looked fine last year.
  • You find out at the broker — not in planning — when landed cost blows up.
  • Reclassifying everything takes weeks; you need a priority list this week.

What you get

  • HS/HTS gap scan — which SKUs lack a usable code, look inconsistent, or need review
  • Estimated US duty stack — MFN base + Section 301 / 232 flags where the data supports it
  • Margin-hit ranking — SKUs sorted by estimated duty impact vs. your margin
  • “Fix these first” list — top priorities for broker review or reclassification
  • One PDF — ready to share with ops, finance, or your customs broker

Who it’s for

  • Shopify / DTC brands importing finished goods into the US
  • Physical-product exporters selling into the US market (incl. Canadian founders)
  • Ops / finance leads who need a ranked exposure view — not a 40-page customs memo
  • Catalogs up to 200 SKUs on the $97 audit (≤1000 SKUs available at $297)

A practical operator brief, not a legal opinion. Typical sections:

  • Executive summary — exposure snapshot in one page
  • HS/HTS coverage & gap table
  • Per-SKU estimated duty stack (MFN + applicable 301/232 notes)
  • Margin-hit ranking (highest estimated impact first)
  • “Fix these SKUs first” action list with suggested next step
  • Assumptions, data gaps, and disclaimer

FAQ

Is this formal customs or legal advice?

No. DutyExposure produces estimates and prioritization for planning. Final classification and duty liability belong with your licensed customs broker or counsel. Always verify before filing or shipping.

What if I don’t have HS codes yet?

That’s fine — and common. Leave the column blank. The gap scan flags those SKUs and we estimate from title, description, material, and origin where possible. Confidence is lower without a known code; we mark that clearly.

How accurate are the duty estimates?

They’re directional planning numbers based on publicly available rate schedules and your CSV inputs. They are not a binding assessment. Section 301/232 applicability can depend on origin, product details, and exclusions — your broker confirms.

How fast do I get the PDF?

Target: within 1 business day after we receive a clean CSV. First orders may be faster. If your file needs cleanup, we’ll reply once — not bounce you around.

What format do you need?

CSV using our template columns. Shopify product exports work if you map the fields. We’ll send the template right after payment.

Can I get a refund?

If we haven’t started work on your CSV, yes — full refund. Once the audit is in progress or delivered, the fee is non-refundable. Details in your confirmation email.

I’m not in Canada — can I still buy?

Yes. The buyer is any Shopify/DTC importer or physical-product seller shipping into the US. Canadian exporters are a common fit; they’re not the only fit.
